“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” – Hebrews 10:24-25
At Emmaus, we want to build a caring community and provide a place for members to care for each other and share life. We want to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the Body of Christ may be built up.
Our first line of pastoral care is with our Care Group Leaders (CGLs), who aim to encourage our members to:
- Obey God’s Word,
- Care for one another, &
- Pray for each other.
Each Care Group consists of members and regular visitors of different ages and marital statuses. There is also a Chinese-speaking Care Group.
From now till May 2016, we are reading “Together Alive” by Reverend Lam Kuo Young, and exploring and understanding the role of a pastor and the value of service in the church.
Each Care Group usually meets once a month, at different locations and times depending on each group’s arrangements.
