“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5: 14 – 16

Emmaus EFC moved into the Macpherson area in year 2012. We believe that it is God’s arrangement for us to be located in this area. Being saved by grace through faith in Christ, God has prepared for us to do good works through Christ (Eph 2: 8 – 10). Hence, we hope to share God’s goodness and blessings in our lives in our neighbourhood. Our desire is for the programs to help us form authentic relationships with our neighbours.

Presently, ENO has started four programs to bless our neighbourhood.

When: Bi-monthly Saturdays afternoons from 1.00pm to 2.30pm

Where: Antioch@MacPherson, 18 Arumugam Road, Level 4 classroom

Contact Person: Joawen or contact@emmausefc.sg

This program is catered for young children (4 – 7 years old) who desire to improve their reading and English skills. Our volunteers, the ENO Read Facilitators will lead the children in a time of reading English books which teach good moral values. After the time of reading, Art and Craft and/or simple English writing skills activities ensued to reinforce understanding of the story and deepen the learning new English vocabulary.

When: Every Saturday (excluding school holidays), 10am to 12pm

Where: Antioch@MacPherson, 18 Arumugam Road, Level 4 classrooms

During school term, ENO Tuition provides free English and Math tuition for primary school students through the help of our church’s volunteer tutors. During each session, the ENO Tutor will use materials available from assessment books to revise the content learnt in school to bridge the learning gap for the children. The tuition group size is kept small (3 – 6 students to 1 tutor) so that there will be close monitoring and checking of understanding.

When: Bi-monthly Saturdays of every month, 3:30PM – 5:30PM

Where: MacPherson CC

Our ENO Dodgeball interest group is set up to engage older children to teens during their afternoon leisure time. This simple ball game provides the older children opportunities to learn about the discipline of obeying game rules and values required in a team game. These learning opportunities will build up the character of the child and ensure that they spend their free time in meaningful activities.

When: Bi-monthly Saturdays of every month, 1pm to 3pm

Where: Antioch@MacPherson, 18 Arumugam Road, Level 4 classrooms

Our ENO Art and Craft interest group is set up to engage lower primary school children (7 to 10 years old) in simple Art and Craft sessions. During the session, the children will use their creativity for some craft instructed by the volunteer facilitators. The facilitators will also share with the children good character values based on the theme for the month. Through fun games and simple craft, we hope the children will enjoy picking up new skills and knowledge with us.
